Lifestyle change will lead to long-lasting results while achieving them in a safe, injury free, sustainable way.

We will focus on TRENDS. Are you TRENDING in the right direction from the SMART goals we set together? Not every week will be perfect, not every week will be a failure, we expect and plan for these days because we are focused on lifestyle change.

Jake Hanson Fitness Training Philosophy

"It's a lifestyle" :D

Too many people go “all in” right off the bat and then they go “all out” a few weeks later because they could not handle all that change at once. That’s not to say they are weak people. Not at all! They understand that their health is important which is great, but they just went too extreme with it. They go from 0 to 100 in a day and that simply is unsustainable.

  • This is not a race, it’s not a competition, it is a lifestyle. If you want to be healthy and get in great shape for the rest of your life, you need to take your time with this journey. Slow and steady! Motivation is great, but dedication is what will get you results.

  • Proper form and controlled movements is key to getting in shape and avoiding injury. There are too many people lifting way too much weight, way too fast, way too often. These people will likely deal with injuries on a regular basis, only to become more severe with time, avoid this type of training!

  • Show up, have fun, and keep adding more effort, intensity, and focus. This is what will lead you to the body you want.

    Health and Fitness is a CELEBRATION of what your body and mind can do! It is not a punishment.

    Just think how fun it will be when you start looking better, feeling better, and moving better!?

    Your life will start to improve drastically, in all areas.

About me

My name is Jake Hanson. I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. And I didn’t exercise AT ALL until I went to college. I focused on playing guitar, watching movies and making money doing retail gigs.

In 2004, Freshman year of college, I ended up in the hospital for a couple nights. No I didn’t drink myself to death from Jack & Cokes, but had a bad reaction to meds the Doctor prescribed me. I felt like 100% garbage, WEAK, and soft. And to add to the misery I had a nurse ask if I was eating enough daily.

After that experience I said enough is enough, it’s time to get healthy and in great shape. Fast forward three years into my training and I decided to push myself further and enter a bodybuilding competition. One of the hardest things I’ve done but am so glad I did it!

Fitness is fluid. You can start in one place and end in another. While I continue till this day to live a bodybuilder’s lifestyle, I took up kitesurfing/snowkiting in 2010, a great cardio and core sport. And in the spring of 2019 I spent a month on Koh Samui, Thailand and got Muay Thai lessons from a 300-bout professional fighter. Another great cardio workout. Also, you get to practice useful techniques if you should ever need it. (hopefully you don’t!)

Travel has been a big part of my life. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries. I’ve lived in Sweden, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Thailand, and many states in the U.S. I have exercised in many gyms in all those locations and learned a lot!

After years of self learning I decided to make it official and I earned five Personal Training certifications.

ACE, NASM performance Enhancement Specialist, NASM MMA conditioning, ACTION and Online Personal Trainer through the Online Training Academy.

I worked for a year as a personal trainer in a well known big box gym in Minnesota. I trained many types of clients; young and old, thin and overweight. no injures to severely injured. Im happy to say all of them saw improvements while we worked together. And I always helped guide them, to show to themselves, that they can do this and take ownership of their health.

Fitness is my passion. It’s was I love, and do. I read about it, I practice it, I live it. And I want to help as many others achieve their fitness goals so they can finally feel what its like to achieve something they never thought was possible.
